Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2010
My second visit to HK international jewellery show, I was there in2008 for Sept summer show and swore not to do it again as it was just too hot in the summer in HK. I think I could manage a winter show so I went. After all, I need to look at what’s out there, what’s new and the trends. I was already in Taiwan for Chinese New Year so I just left from a small international airport in Taichung to HK.

As usual, there were a lot of people registering. There were 32,007 buyers and 2673 exhibitors this year. It’s the biggest spring jewellry show in Asia. My buyer’s pass, Exquisite color Inc from Canada.

For some reason they don’t have all the exhibitors listed in the show guide so in order to find certain exhibitors you have to find them on the exhibitors list wall. It’s a bit weird.

Different booth setups.

HK exhibition center is quite nice. Beautiful view.

You always see people taking a break sitting down somewhere. Walking the show is hard on your feet after a few hours. I didn’t this time as I didn’t have much time. I decided to just suck it up and walk the entire show before I take any breaks as I didn’t have much time and I had to look for specific items for a couple of clients.

This is not a barbie house. Everything in here other than the desks and closet are jewellery. They are charms for bracelets. Aren’t they just cute? Unfortunately I can’t take more pictures of other jewellery I found interesting and beautiful, it is not allowed to take pictures of jewellery in the show. I managed to take this picture and then a security guard stopped me from taking anymore pictures.

I think it’s important for a jeweller to go to different jewellery shows when they can, even when they are not looking for new stock for their stores for clients. It’s just what a jewller should do to receive new information and new trends. I finished this trip without much success of finding what I needed for a couple of client, but this was a good show in general.
