Remembering To Give Fundraiser

 

100% of the Remembering 2 Give fundraising proceeds go to the Strathcona Community Centre, which supports growing health in kids through youth athletics. The community of Strathcona is one of the poorest in the country with many children living in poverty.  At Strathcona, the community center for the past 30 years has offered subsidized or free sport, music, healthy snack, dance, and education programs for over 200 children a day. www.remembering2give.com

 

 

 

I donated a pair of earrings for silent auction. They are waterfall diamond dangle earrings retailed for $595 CAD and the bid started at $250 CAD. A generous young lady bid and won this pair of earrings. Thank you!

 

A lot of local sponsors donated for silent auction. There were two tables of silent auction items but I only got the picture of the first one.

 

 

Venue was great. There are these warrior tomb figures on the wall and mini ones at the bar.

 

 

 

 

Raffle balloons were $20 each. I bought one and……

 

Only to later on accidently let it fly loose up to the ceiling, thanks to a good friend of mine who was in charge of looking after the balloon. Yes the red balloon high up on the ceiling was mine and I would never find out what the prize was.

 

Jackee Guillou performed at the event, everybody enjoyed her music. Jackee is a recent winner of the CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award for a performance at this years 2009 Vancouver Jazz Festival. I didn’t get a chance to take a good close up picture of her so please go to her website www.jackee.ca

 

 

Organizers announced who won the trip to Vegas. No, I didn’t win, some other lucky lady did.

 

 

 

The fundraiser was a great success. I was one of the sponsors so my logo was displayed on the wall along with others. 100% of the Remembering 2 Give fundraising proceeds go to the Strathcona Community Centre.
