Custom Made Blue Sapphire Engagement Ring
This client is referred to me by my old client, we had a casual meeting, briefly talked about jewelry and he told me she wanted a blue sapphire engagement ring instead of a diamond ring. After explaining to him about the cut, color and tone about sapphires, we decided to narrow down to size from 1.00 to 2.00ct, no diamonds in the shank in some swirl design.
After looking over a few parcles of diamonds, I picked the final 3 potential sapphires that would fit the budget and design. They are 1.50ct, 1.74ct and 2.05ct.
Slightly different angle view, due to the way it’s cut the 1.50ct appears to be a lot smaller than the 1.74ct. It is lighter in tone so this sapphire is cut with heavier bottom to show the color better. 1.74ct is cut a little shallower as it’s a slightly darker stone so it appears to be a lot bigger than the 1.50ct.
After careful examination, he picked the middle one, 1.74ct, good choice!

He designed the ring himself (I helped a little) and two weeks after we picked the stone the ring is finished!
