Whistler, British Columbia Canada
Finally the Olympic is over and Whistler is open to the public again. I went to Asia so I didn’t see much of Olympics but I still managed to wonder around a bit before I left town to enjoy the Olympic atmosphere. Ya ya I know it’s very Asian of me to do what I did in the picture with my hand but I don’t care!!!
Whistler is about two hours away by car, we drove up there.
I was a little worried about how I would do as I guess it’s just like riding a bicycle, once you know how to do it you just don’t forget. Last time I was in Whistler I could barely get down the mountain I was that bad.
It was snowing very heavily. I could barely see anything.
I took the peak to peak gondola to Blackcomb mountain from Whistler mountain. Last time when I was here, I only snowboarded in Whistler mountain but this time I snowboarded in mostly blackcomb mountain.
This is what you do when you are up on the mountain and want to communicate with your friends. Just like scuba diving which I haven’t done forever, you give hand signals. My friend didn’t understand me at first and was like…what the hell are you doing? This means I see you, keep going, don’t need to wait for me.
This means go right although you don’t really need to use two hands, one hand is just fine.
I ended up on black diamond run for some reason…..look how crazy this was….OH MY GOD!!!! AER YOU KIDDING ME???? It’s so steep if I lost my balance everybody would see a snowball rolling down the mountain, I would roll all the way from the top of the mountain down to the village!!!!
I couldn’t see anybody skiing or snowboarding down for a long time because I just sat there for a while contemplating how the hell I am supposed to get down. I think the only reason I got off the mountain was because I really had no other choice. I could choose to walk down which would take forever and not easier nor safer or I could snowboard down slowly. I should have seen that sign “EXPERT ONLY” before I got on the lift. I had fun though. I would do it again…by choice!
